Today at early morning I was listening to Wil Bolton's Chimes for a Wall Drawing, lying on my back in the bed enjoying the free flow of yesterday's memories, future ideas and pleasant images on the canvas of my mind. Also known as Cheju for his melodic idm/electronica, Wil has become a firm ambient favorite of mine over the last year since his excellent Time Lapse debut on Hibernate.

This album is all about lovely birds, occasional bees, water and other well-recorded natural sounds perfectly blended with minimal electronics like slow-breathing layers or crystallic synth patterns. For me it's the best attempt to fuse organic and man-made soundscapes in a harmonious and soul-nourishing way, leaving lots of room for the nature.

Truly energetic free offering from the Big Gigantic. Glitched out lazer beats and happy blasting sax mastery that's overwhelming in positiveness. Added with some high-pitched Mickey Mouse vocals it can be too much for many situations, but feeling bit low on a grey winter day on my way to work it effectively cheers me up and electrifies my body.

I played their remix for Emancipator's Ares a lot last summer, and it was a perfect festival tune for my sets. You can get that free with the third 1320 records compilation.

Evan Bartholomew - Borderlands (New Land Music, 2007)

Truly magnificent and majestic work of art from the man better known as Bluetech. Emotional level is upscaled to the heights only the freedom of beatless music can provide. With Rena Jones' strings appearing in the second track we get her included in the full glory of the story, broken down to 16 passages each representing the fundamental archetypal aspects of human life, this is one of the few albums that still manages to deeply move me after all the years spend listening to it.

A first collection of the works from the artists I have been deeply feeling, connecting to and immensely enjoying before this year 2012 that will probably shift our consciousness to the next level of music production. It reflects me as a person at my natural best, capable of being calm and relaxed on the surface with rich inner action on the level of energetic experience, sending out and receiving love and positiveness, only to emerge into precise intensified physical action when the situation calls into it, unwinding and cooling off again when my interference is no longer needed, eventually drifting into vivid dreaming.

Quickly put together with Mixmeister Fusion while my son was sleeping his daytime nap because it's impossible to do anything concentration-demanding on the computer when he's awake and repeatedly asking if he can play Sonic and Sega All-Stars Racing or watch Moomins, Krtek the Mole, Shaun the Sheep or Timmy Time.

Some words about the second and third track were posted before. Maybe more detailed personal account for every song coming if my family life allows it.

VA [2012] Disciples of Headtron vol.1 (Muti)

I had to double-check that it's really a Muti and not a Simplify release, since most of the artists involved are more easily associated with the latter. No surprise though, since for long these two labels have shared very similar musical aesthetics, releasing works by same artists. For me, most of the glitch hop / lazer bass / wobbletronica made today sounds only short-living party music I hear and forget, but some of these artists have succeed in creating longer-lasting pieces. For some reason I want to keep up with these releases thought I don't go to clubs anymore, and I suspect that there's no djs playing this particular style in Finland.

Year after year I seem to find the kind of Christmas songs I'm interested at that time, starting as a teenager in the mid-90's with John Boswell's fluffy piano and ear-scattering Thunderdome X-Mas, riding the poppish dream house wave with More Than Miles, grooving to jazzy remix albums by Six Degrees and Verve, picking up some tunes from the Pink Martini album and this year maturing all the way to modern classical electro-acoustic ambient versions of the holiday favorites.

I like them best this way. For now. All original songs also included.

Mobthrow [2011] Mobthrow (Ad Noiseam)

First amazed by The 3 Marks feat Katja, which is ethereal vocal ambient song from this otherwise elegantly hard-hitting album. Desert City Rising is another immediate win over me with strong Middle East Sahara desert action feel told in masterful downbeat pace. Rainwolf dives deep into organic dubstep with mystical dense nighttime forest atmosphere with a howling wolf nearby.

Three tracks down and the musical experience has been far from what I would have expected judging by the cover which imaginery could be easily associated with this year's hit first-person shooters Modern Warfare 3 & Crysis 2 or the messy idiotic crap flick Transformers 3. Street Breakz goes well with the cover but gets too boring and has somewhat old-school feel not part of my history, so I skip it. Deathnote and Bulb Engine are pure dubstep heaviness as gloomy as the cover suggests.

These ugly lifeless cities could just burn away, but preferably not to prevent the further toxic gas load to the atmosphere. Just leave them empty of destructive activity (like intoxicating the only breathable air by burning fossil fuels in the cars and acts of irresponsible insensitive people) and make room for the nature to fix things.

Iron Tribal gives the hard-hitting energy to randomly go through another track. Alone in the Ruins they moan for their destroyed dreams, listening to my parents' favorite Nina Simone. The war and devastation is over and the overwhelming beauty and light can flow in.

Was a surprise experience, played almost 6 hours sitting by the monitor speaker and the small sub-woofer. Electronic music mixed with World music.

Despite the name of the place it was like normal bar with alcohol and caffeine drinks, and the sitting stuff was not cozy enough for relaxed listening. Maybe that's why they're closing down the place end of the year.

Very rich musical experience from Offthesky, a mini-cd delivered in a cute violet-colored knitted pouch, which looks good for keeping special gemstones and healing crystals in too. It's amazing how music this captivating should only sell 75 units.

The label-head cleared out that 1) this sold out in 6 hours 2) many customers would have bought it if more copies had been available 3) cover pouches took awfully lot of time to knit together, and it surely started to get really frustrating and repetitive towards the 75th one.

A masterpiece of a release, big ups for both Jason and Jonathan.

Mullein Flower Ear Oil

Been using this for the humming tinnitus in my left ear, and it seems to keep the high-pitched sounds away. The gentle low-end hum doesn't bother me that much.

Mullein Leaf Oil

Cleans the mucus mebranes, good to combine with 1 tsp of organic cayenne pepper in hot water or tea. I first tried the alcohol-free glycerite version and it tasted great but wasn't very strong on low doses. That's why I now ordered double-size bottle in organic alcohol.

Still these prices are quite high if you compare to the Bristol Botanicals' list of organic tinctures.

Easily the most interesting album for me to start the new month and enjoy 1.11.11. Jacaszek's 2008 masterpiece Treny was already quite otherworldly and managed to touch the supernatural as intended, and with such a age-old methods combined with modern day haze. On the opening track Goldengrove the tempo picks up only to return back to hurry-free narration and lovely conclusion. Dare-Gale sounds as good as ambient-doom-jazz masters Bohren & Der Club of Gore on their track Zombies Never Die (Blues) from the latest mini-album Beileid - only more energetic towards the end. You listen further and discoverer more excellent music to carry you through the night.

This guy has been incredibly prolific over the last two years, releasing bunch of full lenght ambient albums and some ep's under his own project and joint-venture Hessien. Considering that it was no surprise that he's now having two albums out on Ian Hawgood's Nomadic Kids Republic imprint. They're already pirated and out to grab so I've been listening to them and liking very much, and surely I will support the great guys behind the release and buy them sometime next month. They come so cheap anyway.

It's funny and rather fantastic to observe how some of my favourite musicians and producers seem to flow along their lives the similar currents as I do. After the unusually sad and struggle-filled period in my life I've almost recovered all the enthuasiasm and optimism towards courageous dreaming for the better world I wanted to live in, and gained the deep trust in higher intelligence of the invisible forces in the universe, guiding me on the path of least resistance into the fulfilment.

Resistance towards the old oppressive energies and ideas is sure beautiful when you have fresh constructive ideas to offer instead, and all about this album from the cover to the press release text reminds me of my dear Finnish-Turkish friend who is now going through similar healing process and with all the flaming fire and passion of her youth willing and dedicated to fight for the things she appreciates and loves most in the life, mostly connected to the unselfish service and aimed to the best of every living being on this planet, outside of it and beyond the physical realm in the kingdom of spirits.

It's really this inspiring music for me.

I love it when both the musicians and I are changing and we finally found a meeting ground. This applies to piano-composer Hauschka who is highly praised amongst the like-minded music-lovers but for me his output has been rather irritating. This new album with Icelandic cello-player Hildur sounds gorgeous to my ears.

Was hired to play here yesterday, but with so many Indian women around with different ideas and some technical problems I ended up playing only a few tracks from my own selection. It was a hectic event and I felt completely exhausted afterwards.

My son was enjoying himself and found again a younger toddler girl to hold hands with and jump around dancing. I feel it was worth it.

Again I have to put it up here to remind myself to consider buying this on time after it's released. I've been enjoying his Time Lapse album on Hibernate, so maybe I'm digging this as well.

I feel these limited runs a bit stressing if you want to own physical albums. I could have bought Sonmi451's A New Popular Star Atlas but it's sold out now when I finally noticed it. Well, it didn't stop me or any other from getting the music (though it's only average bitrate quality).

Just ordered this without even listening. Krusseldorf is in my top 5 of downtempo musicians, and with Aleph Zero it's a sure winner.

Though I've found their another recent release by Cuts a way too male vocal-oriented and song-based to work for me at home with the family, it sure kept me going while listening to it through headphones in the middle of the suburbs on Friday evening.

Classic autumn favorite of mine. Bought it when it came out and this jazzy ambient shuffle still puts my mind at ease.

006. Constance Demby [1996] Ocean Without Shores

This goes back to my teenage years. I was deeply touched by the rainy misty evenings on the empty streets in my childhood home area right outside the center of Helsinki, and listened to this dramatic space music piano piece in drunken despair if I was longing for some now forgotten girl.

Just noticed that someone has made a video for the track.

007. Alter Ego [1994] Sex & Gender

Early ambient electronica for film noir style private investigations. Growing up as a city boy, this kind of themes excited me very much (another example would be Bernard Herrmann's & Robert de Niro's famous Diary of the Taxi Driver). Alter Ego's 1993 self-titled album on Sven Väth's Harthouse was on heavy rotation as my sleepy-time soundtrack, but this track was only released on Trance Europe Express 3 compilation I found in the local library, and I listened to it over and over from the copied c-cassette.
