Adham Shaikh [2012] Refractions Vol. 1 (Sonicturtle)

As always I'm quite interested in everything the Canadian world fusion pioneer Adham Shaikh decides to release, and as a DJ the proper remixes for his acclaimed 2010 album Universal Frequencies are very welcome indeed. I've bought the files and the cd is coming by mail later. Can't wait to play these tunes upcoming summer.

A bit modified info from Sonic Turtle

"A funkin dubsteppy breakbeating psy-dubby glitch-hoppin electro-tribal journey around the globe, featuring remixes by
(vol.1 ! ) Bluetech, Nickodemus, David Starfire, Matt the Alien,  Jpod the Beat Chef, Timothy Wisdom, Tarun Nayar of Delhi 2 Dublin, Sound Nomaden, Squazoid, BeatFarmer, Kashoo

(vol. 2 ? ) Jeff Stott, Kaya Project, Spoonbill, Tripswitch, Desert Dwellers, Grandpa Funk

I've met Adham in the Samothraki Festival in Greece 2003 (the same time I first spoke to Ishq and Irina Mikhailova and hanged out a little in the Interchill backstage camp) so I can always relate to his output on a deeper level than what's possible with artists I haven't personally been in contact with. Usually an e-mail or couple of them is enough to create some energetic dynamics between us, but meeting in person in the real world outside the performing stage is the best experience for me.

All the info and purchase options @ Sonic Turtle | Great interview of Adham Shaikh @ Ethnotechno
