Jef Stott [2012] Arcana (Six Degrees)
Exotic oriental middle-eastern melodies, rhythms, textures and occasional vocals powered-up with hard-hitting beats and delicious bass-wobblings necessary for modern subwoofer-packed dancefloors. I was just recently listening through Jef's debut album Saracen from 2008 and was amazed how good it still sounds, unlike most stuff released four years ago which I've lost interested long ago since it's become hopelessly outdated.
With this much energy, there's a good chance that Arcana will live on for years to come too. Opening up with flawless overtone-singing, it's a much-awaited magic-carpet ride for those into real full-body dancing.
Also recommended for those interested in Tribal Fusion and Arabian Ecstatic Bellydance.
