Balkan Beat Box - Blue Eyed Black Boy (Crammed)

Pioneering Israeli group Balkan Beat Box was one of the first stars to emerge in the now healthy balkan-scene. I heard Sunday Arak back in early 2005 and found it extremely cool tune. I've been playing lots of BBB material in my gigs too - because it works so well :)

Also worth checking is the remix album with DVD, released in 2008. Winners for me there have been a relentless refixes by Kush Arora/Dub Gabriel and Stefano Miele, latter being  a huge hit amongst the workers in a fancy hotel lobby bar I was playing in for two summers.

This naturally takes me to the new Riva Starr (Miele in disguise) album If Life Gives You Lemons, Make Lemonade - containing funky minimal tech remake of classic Balkan Beat Box tune Bulgarian Chicks from their first album.
