End of May Roundup (not the Monsanto's GMO pesticide)

Beginning of another era in my life. From June on I'll be living in a beautiful house in the countryside, near the amazing fresh lake and nice sandy public beach with excellent swimming and jump-into-the-water optios. Next to us is also fantastic natural reserve rocks rising from the depths of the water, a majestic place to experience storm and lightning for sure. Also our cozy backyard is on the sunny side, and the house is lovely as well. So I'll be having a proper environment for deep listening pleasures with hi-end headphones. Expect some action in the blogging area of my life soon.

Favorites at the moment

* Sensient - Projekt Grunberg (Zenon / Merkaba)

To the review -> I've been fan of Sensient's deep rolling psy-trance tracks on Zenon and other forward-looking labels, in which category Yaegon's (Kalya Scintilla) label Merkaba rises easily. These labels are showing us they can share the profits between friends for promoting exceptionally good electronic music. This time the dance floor drive is more absent, and deep and detailed audio landscapes are opened, building and climaxing in a true musician's fashion.  The opening track would feel home at Ultimae-records' catalogue and it's epic ambient at it's best. The second track brings the tricky yet relaxed midtempo beat and some fascinating sounds and effects to create calm and contemplative headspace. Fantastic intelligent release.

* Adham Shaikh - Basswalla (Black Swan)

Finally something really interesting was offered me by the prjunkies press agency. In exchange to a feature in this blog, I was given the free mp3s. And what an album it is! Straight from the beginning it hits right in to the core of my being with awesome globetronic floorfiller. Followed tracks are both chilled and danceable with guest vocalist like some mc's. All I can say now it was truly a joy to listen through my Sennheiser Urbanite XL's while I was packing up my and my son's stuff to be moved to our new paradise. Made the otherwise monotonous work a fantastic showcase of what's still exciting in global fusion music, the genre that's been pioneered by Adham in the first place. I've met this humble musician in the Samothraki Festival 2003 in Greece, while I met other favorites like Ishq and some guys from Interchill, and also lovely Irina Mikhailova. Review following soon.

* Max Corbacho - Splendid Labyrinths

Got this free promo straight from Max himself, as he knows I love to listen his deep ambient when it's time to unwind and let go of this material world and flow into the realm of spirit and dreams. Been playing it almost every night ever since I got it a little while ago.
